Become a Parish Councillor – we need you!

Do you care about issues affecting our Parish – Little Gaddesden, Hudnall and Ringshall?

Do you want to assist in supporting our parish?

You can make a difference.   Click here to find out how.

Parish Councillor elections take place on Thursday, 4th May 2023, the same day as Borough Councillor elections.  This means that all parish councillors are coming to the end of their term.    There are seven seats on our parish council and several councillors are deciding not to stand again after many years’ service.  To find out more about elections click here.

We need people from all backgrounds, locations, skills and experience to best reflect our community to put themselves forward as candidates to become Parish Councillors.

You do not need to have any local government knowledge as training will be provided.   You need to be able to find a few hours a week, be interested in the village, be a good listener, tactful, objective, impartial and able to seek out and represent parishioners’ views on things that matter to them.

The Parish Council liaises and works closely with our community, the school, church, local and national organisations, charities and societies to ensure that this area of outstanding natural beauty, conservation area and rural village life are respected and maintained.

The Parish Council support various community projects and local charities.  So being a Councillor is a great way to get involved and support what is going on in, and what is important to, our community.    Also it’s a great way to find out how the village and Dacorum Borough Council operates.

An easy way to find out what it is like to be a parish councillor is to speak to one of the current councillors to find out about their experiences and the role they carry out.
